Garment Care

We made it with care, now you have the power to make it last a lifetime.

  • For optimal care, hand wash using cold water and mild soap and remove excess water with a towel by rolling your garment in the towel and gently stepping on it. Do not ring the garment while it’s in the towel. Repeat to make sure all the soap has drained. Do not agitate the water or thrash your garment around as this can lead to damage and felting. Do not stretch and pull your garment excessively when it’s wet as this can lead to stretched stitches. Lay flat to dry out of direct sunlight.

  • NEVER place garment in machine dryer. It will shrink, you will be devastated.

  • To prolong the life of your garment, fold for storage instead of hanging. Store away from sunlight.

  • Natural fibres are very resilient and need very minimal washing. You can hang them outside on a crisp day to freshen them whenever you feel like they need it.

Returns & Exchanges

Eligibility

  • Items must be returned within 60 days of purchase date, unwashed and in good condition.

  • Please email us at riley.redthreadsdesign@gmail.com with the reason for your return. We will provide you with return instructions, and do our best to make it right.

  • We do not cover the cost of shipping your returned item. If you are in Squamish, you can drop off your return. Please email us for the drop off address when giving us the reason for your return.

  • Exchanges are accepted if the garment arrives in good condition. After we receive your returned item, we will ship your new item to you. If you are in Squamish, we will deliver for free.

  • If your parcel arrives in damaged condition, please email us with photos attached so we can fix it for you.

Shipping

  • We currently do not ship to the United States - if you’re in the USA and would like to purchase our goods, please email us at riley.redthreadsdesign@gmail.com.

  • Items will be shipped within 5 days from purchase date through Canada Post.

  • We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages.

  • We currently do not offer expedited shipping.

  • Shipping costs are auto calculated based on weight and size of your items at checkout, and will vary from place to place.

  • If your parcel and purchase arrive in damaged condition, please send us pictures at riley.redthreadsdesign@gmail.com so we can rectify the situation for you.

  • Our shipping parcels are 100% biodegradable. Compost it after opening!

Local Delivery

  • We are pleased to provide local delivery to the Squamish area for a flat fee of $10! This is automatically calculated based on the address you enter at checkout.

  • Technically, yes. If you do, only use cold water and the gentle cycle. However, we don’t recommend washing machines as they add wear and tear to garments, and aren’t necessary to achieve an effective wash.

  • Short answer, barely.

    Luckily, we primarily work with natural fibres and they have amazing properties! This includes stain, sweat, and smell resistance, and therefore requires minimal washing.

    You can even air them outside once or twice a year in the fresh air instead of regular washing. We love to make garments that are meant to last.

  • Project time!

    For shrinking, place garment in lukewarm water with a gentle conditioner or baby shampoo. Gently stretch the garment back to shape. We cannot guarantee your garment will return to its original shape and size.

    Unfortunately, felting is not fully reversible, but you can try to get it back to shape by following the above instructions.
